Wingate by Wyndham Orlando International Airport - EVERYTHING You MUST Know!!

So I am in the process of building a start-up business that requires me to send some people around to other locations to work and because we are in our start-up phases, cash is limited.

That said, we found a hotel called the Wingate by Wyndham by the Orlando International Airport, and I wanted to tell you guys about it.

So in this article, We are talking about:

  • EVERYTHING You MUST Know about the Wingate by Wyndam by the Orlando International Airport from our experience

  • What they tell you vs how it ACTUALLY is

  • Everything in between!

I also want to be clear that what we are going over is the cumulative experience from the hotel guests who are staying there, the business owner that is booking remotely and as a start-up business and my experience at this hotel may not represent yours.

Booking the Hotel

I had to get my workers out of the hotel we booked them previously rather quickly because of how gross it was. So we needed a place that was going to book quickly. We found a place relatively close to there that was more comfortable and closer to “civilization”.

If you want to see the previous hotel we stayed at, I made a video and article about them as well.

I called them directly to see if they had some rooms available, and booked them over the phone. I also made sure that they could check in if I wasn’t there, the person over the phone answered me and I booked it.

Checking in

Now after my last conversation with them, I assumed that I would be all good or at least I would get sent something in my email about the reservation.

Alas, I was wrong.

I got a call from one of the workers I sent over there who then handed the phone to the front desk person, Elizabeth, and she explained that it was no problem but I needed to fill out a credit card authorization form.

Honestly, this isn’t much of an issue but what I found interesting was how analog the form is. They sent it as a PDF, not a webform where I can type everything in, no places on the form where I can just click and type it in that way. Just the form.

In my opinion, this just leads to sloppy forms with text boxes all over the place from customers who aren’t as adept to PDF’s or someone printing the document and writing out the form with questionable handwriting.

It really isn’t that big of a deal either but even the La Quinta that we stayed in last had a webform, even if it led to errors. So this was odd to me.

The Room Itself

According to the workers I sent over there the room was comfortable and clean. They also sent me a video and yeah, that is how I would define it as well.

The bathroom was clean, plenty of towels, fridge and microwave, desk, television, and beds and lounge chair.

Also surprisingly well lit, I feel like for every hotel I stay in, the lighting for the rooms have no universal switches. So you have to go into each individual lamp and turn them on to get decent lighting.

In the video they sent, it was 7:22 at night in November and you can see pretty much everything.

Extending Our Stay

Extending our stay here also went surprisingly well, the process was simple, Elizabeth just asked me to fill out more Authorization forms, which isn’t that big of a deal, but it kind of brings the point of “upgrade your systems” back up.

In order for me to refill this application, I had to manually put it in where it could have simply been a “fill in the boxes” experience. Or like with the La Quinta, send me a webform. Again, not that big of a deal, but it is what it is.
