So with the new pay model that just came out they are now stealing money from drivers and deactivating those who decide to fight back about it!
Looks like their pay model is costing them so much, that this is what it has come down to.
So in this article, We are talking about:
How DeliverThat stole my money
Why they decided to deactivate me
Everything in between

Monday October 14th, 2024
On Monday, I had completed 2 orders for DeliverThat and each of them were paying out $30+. I thought the first one was going to run a little late so I called Justin at DeliverThat and he assured me that it wouldn’t be a problem. It wasn’t by the way, I had it delivered on time.
The second order was easy as well and I had that done also. Easy-peasy, nothing really notable about either of them.
I didn’t even notice any changes until later in the week.
Thursday October 17th 2024

I was preparing some screenshots for the orders that I did to do a comparison of each of the orders that I did, and it turns out that they did some funny things with the numbers. The orders that were $30+ are now $20 and $25?
This isn’t like you can blame it on a glitch, they undid all the work I did just to reapply them at the lower rates. I can’t believe I didn’t notice!
Honestly, this is even worse than the Dlivrd incident, that was an issue with an order I was about to do, now they are doing that with orders I already did!
They did that to a friend of mine too, where he was supposed to be getting $125 for an order and they dropped it to $84 and the other guy with the order was supposed to get that as well and got $115.
UDM actually interviewed the person who got the $115 side. That wasn’t even an ezCater order, it was a direct partnership!
Phone Calls
I decided to call support, and I have spoken to several people.
Then they decided to hang up on me over and over again, refusing to put me through to driver experience, and refusing to help.
What they did next was crazy, they decided to block me and deactivate me for calling them. This may be the worst deactivation yet, deactivation for phone calls.

I decided to email everyone I knew that would have any kind of influence. John Zinno, Darien Terrell, everyone!
Later on they ended up giving me back my money but they didn’t reactivate my account, or if they did, they certainly didn’t notify me.
How I Got my Money Back and Reactivated
So during this whole debacle I made sure I was messaging people of influence and making sure my voice was heard as much as possible from them. From Executive emails to Facebook groups, I didn’t just lie down quietly. I mean, would I ever?

I made sure I had the most elaborate paper trail I could possibly have.
That said, this morning I got a call from Christian from DeliverThat, who is a pretty big guy up there. In fact, he is the one who sends out the disbursement reports to get us paid.
He contacted me to let me know that he was the one getting me paid for the order discrepancy and reactivated my account, as well as reinstating my preferred status. Why it took that much is beyond me.
He also made a point to say they were going to heavily coach their support teams, because nothing I said was out of line and they were in the wrong 100%.
So good on them for taking ownership of what they did.
“Influence”
I feel like the inevitable point of me having a YouTube channel and making videos on this type of content had some kind of influence on the decision they made. First of all, I had no intention to weaponize the channel in such a way to where it can be perceived as such.
Did they have any idea that I was Driven Wyld, or had a website or hosted a Discord where we connect drivers to exclusive professional opportunities? Maybe, but I didn’t tell them personally or any support agent for that matter.
So if they knew who I was, it was through the grapevine, not through me.
If it did on the other hand and you were thinking on whether or not to start a YouTube channel, just saying, there is something here.
Other Important Points
This could have been 1000 times worse, and I could have lost this account permanently. I have heard SO MANY horror stories about people getting wrongfully deactivated on so many different platforms.
That said, there are some important points that I wanted to note that did help in the event you find yourself in this situation.
Never Stay Silent
If you end up being wrongfully deactivated, the worst thing you can do is be silent about it. They did the right thing this time, but to be honest I do believe that if I didn’t say anything to the higher ups, I may not have been reactivated.
Also creating a paper trail with content on YT and FB groups, definitely helped as well. Got peoples attention and things turned out okay. Just don’t be the guy to sit there and take it.
Disagreement isn’t Unprofessional
Now one of the things that Christian said was that nothing I said was out of pocket and I simply just pointed out some of the poor behavior that was taking place. I didn’t get personal, I didn’t get loud, and I kept it clean.
I continued to fight properly regardless of the adversity I was experiencing from support, I never made it personal, I didn’t make personal attacks, I just stated the reality of things.
That kind of treatment is reserved for those who discriminate against gig workers and treat my people like shit. Now I can ruin them emotionally all day long.
Make a Paper Trail
I kind of eluded to this a few times but I also made sure to make an extensive paper trail using social media posts, emails, text messages and screenshots. To make sure people were held accountable properly.
Something that most people don’t do enough of, and in the event that a support agent decides to reach out to contradict your points, you need to elaborate and respond to their framework accordingly.
One point that was mentioned was that I was hostile and “all drivers must be able to resolve conflicts in a constructive and professional manner.”
I simply pointed out that calling them after being hung up on is not a display of hostility, but of their incompetence. I also made sure to send out emails to the higher ups to have this properly handled.
I didn’t allow them to frame the situation the way they wanted it framed, and I reframed it myself, professionally.
I didn’t prove them right by pointing out that all she did was validate her deadbeat dad by being the reason he didn’t stick around, because that would be emotional and unprofessional. Just because you can come up with creative insults, doesn’t mean you should.
Remove Dependence
There are two things people get really emotional about when you get right down to it, money and relationships. One of the ways I knew I can remain unemotional about the whole thing is by removing dependence from any one company financially.
I have a very well diversified gig portfolio of both larger and smaller companies and am working on various businesses, treating the gig economy as an income bridge to what would be my long term goal, not the goal.
That said, if this entire week of the worst order problems, glitches, horrendous behavior from the corporate side of things displays ANYTHING, it is that it is vital to have multiple opportunities available to you by diversifying your gig portfolio, and developing an exit strategy.
